met up with sk and henry at 9.30 just now and go mustafa centre to see clothes.. believe it or not but this is my first time to mustafa... and as i go through the building, i had the feeling that i was in malaysia. perhaps it's the yellow lights bah, abit dark dark but not that dark feeling. At every entrance, there are 2 staff greeting people.. i was like 'wah, good CRM method'.. coz seldom see this in singapore. Thumbs up for them.

but then in the end, our bags does not contain any shirts but alot of drinks and ice cream.. coz was thirsty but then saw alot of selection, so we just see what we like and take it.

Actually not really roster.. just ji tao confirmation.. i have to be at singapore expo from 8.30am to 11+pm to help bro simon set up the computers for lan gaming and also other IT thingy.. fast fast fast.

Even right now i see the schedule i came up with also scared. whole month of march and april got guest speakers. then somemore Pastor Benny Hinn's conference is in Singapore Indoor Stadium, so may need to carry the kiosks and axs machine over to there. busy busy..

just came home from dinner outside with sk.. zzz.. he came down to my place from his tuas worksite just to collect kfc coupons and a cd from me.. ermmm..

so he came down at 5+ and we went to siglap kfc to eat. His treat.. to celebrate his completion of project.. zzz.. lol.. then i bought home 4 piece chicken meal.. strange thing is every1 in the family found it strange and ask me what happened. I was like "what the ***, i don't buy anything home, you all say i don't buy anything.. now i buy liao, you all ask me what happened.. "

The only way players usually leave Manchester United is if they have upset manager Sir Alex Ferguson or you are deemed surplus to requirements.

Henrik Larsson has left Old Trafford after his three-month loan stint and his exit is an altogether different scenario as he departs by his own accord.

The temptation to stay on at United as they challenge for another historic Treble must have reverberated through his soul but, a man of his word, he has resisted.

The agreement was to return to Helsingborg after 12 March and Larsson is sticking to it.

"I have signed a contract with Helsingborg and it's a contract I intend to honour," he said.

"Their season starts in the first week in April and I will be there. It has been a wonderful experience at a great club. It is something I'll always be grateful for."

Ferguson did not want the 35-year-old Swede to leave but for him not to do so would be in conflict with a career and reputation the striker has based on loyalty and honesty.

Such commodities are considered rare in the modern age of football but old-fashioned honour marks out Larsson and his off-pitch reputation would not be as impressive if he was still not one of Europe's most accomplished forwards.

The clamour for him to stay began as soon as his first game for Manchester United was over - when he scored a goal on his debut in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup.

Since then he has added two further goals in 11 appearances, including the header against Lille in the Champions League that helped take United into the last eight.

But, while his goal tally is respectable, the statistics hide his guile and artistry off the ball, along with his professionalism and attitude in showing the way to United's younger stars.

It was much the same at Barcelona last season when his influence was telling in helping them win the Champions League and take Spain's La Liga crown.

He was brought on as a substitute against Arsenal in the Champions League final and changed the game - setting up both goals as Barcelona came back from a goal down to beat their 10-man rivals 2-1.

It seems ironic that he is leaving when United need him most, with fellow forwards Louis Saha and Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer set to be sidelined until the end of March because of injury.

Wayne Rooney is struggling for form and Alan Smith has yet to show he has fully recovered from a broken ankle well enough to make an impact.

Ferguson will be hoping his players will have learned enough from Larsson to see them through as the going gets even tougher with the season reaching a climax.

"He has been a credit to himself. His dedication to his job has never changed and it has been a real joy to have him," stated Ferguson.

"We would love him to stay but, obviously, he has made his promise to his family and Helsingborg and I think we should respect that - but I would have done anything to keep him."

missed part of the praise & worship this morning in service due to some ermmm.. unseen circumstances. but it's also today, i felt i really had a heart to heart talk with a fren. Even though it's just about 20 minutes, but during this period of time, i saw many emotions from him. something that i least expect from him. but it's also something that dissolved his anger. I know the Holy Spirit was taking over because i said something which i know i won't just anyhow say to anyone. So in the end after some 'negotiation', he came in.

IMO, service is a time for Man to worship God, not a time to have discipleship. Trust is the basis for relationships. Sy Rogers said a phrase by C.S. Lewis which i thought it was so true, "some attitudes can either drive Christians to the church or away from the church."

went to watch 300 with sk, hw and henry in bugis shaw cinema just now. 300 is a movie that is slightly above average. though the effects, like the blood and dropping of head does not really look real, but the rest was simply thumbs up. perhaps it's the dolby surround sound, the sound effect was mind blowing. This movie is adapted from Battle of Thermopylae of Frank Miller's 300 book in which King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army.

After the movie, we went to 'Ayam Penyet House' to eat and then play pool a while.

Everything God does, He always do it in His timing and when that happens , usually suddenly everything you read, everyone who you spoke seems to be like the same thing. And I experienced it again and again. This whole 2 weeks, it happened again.

I was going a phase of life where, suddenly you are at loss. Totally lost.. whether should i continue or whether should i leave. In fact i had already made a decision but i didn't act upon it. somehow when i was using my computer, i looked around my cupboard and saw the book " The GOD Chasers: My Soul Follows Hard after Thee " by Tommy Tenney.

I got it last August and I just haven't touch it since. Since I have free time now, I thought, "why not just read it?" The first chapter just blown me away. Tenney was talking about one day he went to a church and the presence of God literally swept through the whole church and that day's 8.30 am Sunday service lasted throughout the day til Monday morning, where some never even left, just to stay in His presence.

I was really convicted at their hunger and i begin to look into myself. Had i had this hunger before? Yes but not in a long time. In fact it had been a long time. When was the last time i was hungry to go for Bible Study class (talking about it.. hmmm next wed have to go liao. finally waited til Gifts of the Holy Spirit chapter 11)? Just because we are doing the Christian things like attending service, serving in ministry does not meant you know Him. One phrase that caught me.

Don't get so religious that you never become spiritual. It's so true.

Then last Tuesday's prayer meeting in Singapore Expo, Pst Kong was having a real heart to heart talk about how he felt. In my heart, there is a burning desire to get myself back on track. Then today's cellgroup really confirm everything. I need to get it back!!! Starting with prayer , then BS..

Henrik Larsson sent Manchester United into the Champions League last eight in his final game at Old Trafford.

United had two good chances in the first half but Wayne Rooney's shot was blocked and John O'Shea hit the bar.

Lille grew in confidence but failed to capitalise as Jean Makoun wasted a header from six yards and Peter Odemwingie's header rattled the post.

Larsson sealed victory in the 72nd minute when he headed home Cristiano Ronaldo's cross from the left.

It was the 35-year-old's first Champions League goal for United and will be his last as he returns to Swedish club Helsingborg on 12 March.

Larsson left the field three minutes after scoring and paused at the edge of the pitch to salute the crowd, having sealed United's passage into the quarter-finals.

United's progress looked far from assured in a tentative start to the match and, if anything, Lille had the edge in the opening stages.

The Old Trafford crowd did their best to rouse United but they had to wait 15 minutes for the home side to hit their stride and conjure two excellent chances in quick succession.

Scholes, playing his 100th European match, sailed the ball in to a waiting Rooney in the box but his right-footed volley was blocked by Mathieu Chalme.

Michael Carrick took the resulting corner and O'Shea rose for the ball only to see his header clatter the bar while Lille keeper Tony Sylva was all at sea.

A jittery Lille defence cleared their lines and soon afterwards created their best chance to peg back United.

Ludovic Obraniak delivered a pinpoint free-kick to Makoun and he should have done better from six yards, but instead opted to tamely head to Edwin Van der Sar.

United's frustration grew as Lille began to work their way back into the game.

Rooney found himself forced back to help out in defence far too often while at the other end Ronaldo was booked for diving in the box, although there was some contact from Chalme.

On the stroke of half-time Odemwingie fired another warning to United, just failing to get on the end of Chalme's cross, and Sir Alex Ferguson trudged off pensively.

Ferguson's worries continued after the break as Lille ventured forward.

Kader Keita twice tested Van der Sar and Odemwingie came close again when his header bounced off the post before Nemanja Vidic did likewise at the opposite end.

It was Ronaldo's injection of pace which turned the match on its head after 72 minutes.

Racing up the left wing, he fed the ball to Larsson, who was unmarked in the box, and the Swede
stretched to head beyond Syla.

Three minutes later, Alan Smith came on for Larsson, who after giving United the perfect farewell gift left to huge applause.

United's triumph was marred slightly as Mikael Silvestre left the field on a stretcher with a suspected dislocated shoulder in the dying minutes of the match after falling awkardly.

So Henrik Larsson had played his last game for Man Utd and ended it with a bang by scoring a goal to shut Lille's mouth. I can imagine if Larsson didn't scored and the match ended at 0-0, which means Man Utd still qualifies with an aggregate of 1-0 from first leg, Lille will continue to complain saying the first leg was unfair and stuff like that.

Anyway, Arsenal is really into trouble. Wenger ah, your team too young liao. SO with now. Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd are the qualifying English teams.

Let's go back 27 years, when Israeli construction workers were gouging out the foundations for a new building in the industrial park in the Talpiyot, a Jerusalem suburb. of Jerusalem. The earth gave way, revealing a 2,000 year old cave with 10 stone caskets. Archologists were summoned, and the stone caskets carted away for examination. It took 20 years for experts to decipher the names on the ten tombs. They were: Jesua, son of Joseph, Mary, Mary, Mathew, Jofa and Judah, son of Jesua.
Israel's prominent archeologist Professor Amos Kloner didn't associate the crypt with the New Testament Jesus. His father, after all, was a humble carpenter who couldn't afford a luxury crypt for his family. And all were common Jewish names.

Cameron is holding a New York press conference on Monday at which he will reveal three coffins, supposedly those of Jesus of Nazareth, his mother Mary and Mary Magdalene. News about the film, which will be shown soon on Discovery Channel, Britain's Channel 4, Canada's Vision, and Israel's Channel 8, has been a hot blog topic in the Middle East (check out a personal favorite: Israelity Bites) Here in the Holy Land, Biblical Archeology is a dangerous profession. seems like Lille is encouraged by what Thailand did about 3 weeks ago in Singapore --- walk off the pitch when you don't agree with referee's decision. and meanwhile Man Utd stayed composed on the pitch just like Singapore did..

So now the only factor will be if the Uefa will make decision like AFF that is to ignore this bad attitude, sweep it under the carpet and act as if nothing has happened and just give a 'serious' warning.

just reached home.. yesterday was 新年初一 and i go sentosa with family members.. but was extremely pissed by people.. we were queuing to buy tickets for the sentosa monorail and had been in the queue for 45 mins.. finally we reaching to the counter soon.. then come this group of china people.. come and cut queue...

@$%^#&*beep**beep*beep*$^%#*beep* .. am si bei tu lan lor.. tourists big ah.. can anyhow suka suka cut queues hor but then they also unfortunate to piss me when i not good feeling.. So when i near them, i just 'casually' say "插队插很好 hor".. stared at me never mind, i just reply, "我在說你嗎？"

not that i not hospitable, but then it's principles man.. other people, be it tourists or not, also queue ma.. how special are you to be able to cut queue.. not like you pay 3x.. sian 1/2.. day spoilt by this group of i**iots..

spent about 4 hours in sentosa looking at flowers.. -_-".. then we went to river hong bao to see.. but the atmosphere of new year is not there man.. it's more like a bigger scale pasar malam found near your house nia..

then went to shaw tower to meet sk, hw and henry to watch movie - norbit... a very good comedy.. was laughing from nearly start to the end.

Eddie Murphy did very well, i think, he is able to capture all the 3 characters' personalities.. the best quote will be when the life guard asked Rasputia: "Excuse me, are you wearing bottoms?".. haha..

after movie, we went to the cannery see see got anything interesting.. :P then to river hong bao, yet again for me.. then went circular road to eat..

Pastor reportedly told congregation he could repeat miracle of Jesus

An evangelist who tried replicating Jesus' miracle of walking on water has reportedly drowned off the western coast of Africa.

Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation he could repeat the biblical miracle, and he attempted it from a beach in Gabon's capital of Libreville.

"He told churchgoers he'd had a revelation that if he had enough faith, he could walk on water like Jesus," an eyewitness told the Glasgow Daily Record.

"He took his congregation to the beach saying he would walk across the Komo estuary, which takes 20 minutes by boat. He walked into the water, which soon passed over his head and he never came back."

The New Testament records the story of Jesus walking on the Sea of Galilee as he approached his disciples in a boat.

"And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea." (Matthew 14:25)

As WND reported in April, a researcher at Florida State University believes he has a natural explanation for the account of Jesus' miraculous walk on the surface of water – ice.

Professor of Oceanography Doron Nof and the co-authors of his study theorize that a rare combination of optimal water and atmospheric conditions resulted in a unique, localized freezing phenomenon called "springs ice," according to Physorg.com, which specializes in news about science, technology, physics and space.

anyway, Pastor Derek spoke for both services.. so i was half checking the kiosk an listening to the
sermon.. relationships.. how true is it that many a times, bitterness creeped into our hearts, forming a wall that stops communications..

I had been thinking a lot of things in my heart these few days, ermmm.. perhaps weeks… “Why on earth am I not experiencing the same level of miracles and breakthroughs in my life compared to last time?” In fact, I am getting less enthusiastic with many things in church and out of church. How come the Word of God seems to suddenly become a bit unreal to me? I mean I know what the promises of God are, about when you give, it will be given back to you, but it seems I can’t see it in my life.

From Dr. A.R.Bernard’s conference on 28/01, he said a phrase that caught my attention and I highlighted, underlined, put stars all over that particular line.

“God place in His temple, His standards (10 Commandments) and the responsibility to bring the standards to the world is in God’s people.”

Since our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, this means the 10 Commandments are in us, just as what 2 Corinthians 3:3 says “.. written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stones but on tablets of flesh, that is of the heart”, and therefore what we do is important and will set the standards of the society.

I meant after some time I finally got it, from all the 3 preachers, they were talking about the heart and the attitudes, I thought of many events that had happened, and just now while I read the daily devotion 2005, jan 23, “humility” hit me. The key to personal revival is humility. Man, I really repented..

I had been focusing too much on how come I had ‘fall’ to like any other ordinary people. I had been focusing too much on things that should be last on the list or maybe, should never be on the list. And I had been giving excuses so that I can go through some things ‘peacefully’. Yes, they are true. Projects are a lot, datelines are a lot.. but like what Pastor Kong said today, surely we can chew gum and walk at the same time. Surely I can do the projects and still be able to go to meetings right. Suddenly, I sense a change in my atmosphere and I know breakthrough is coming, even though this cycle is coming back to the start, but I know through this next cycle, I am going to experience new things once again. I believe it. :)

Coach Fabio Capello paid tribute to David Beckham's professionalism as he recalled the former England skipper to the Real Madrid squad.

Capello has relented on his decision never to pick Beckham, 31, after he agreed a move to LA Galaxy next season.

Real's coach denied he had bowed to pressure from senior players or reacted to recent results by recalling Beckham.

Capello said: "We doubted he could train with the same enthusiasm, but he has behaved like a great professional."

Beckham has not played for Real since January, when he revealed his decision to move to America at the end of his contract in the summer.

Beckham's most recent appearance for Madrid came in the 2-0 defeat at Deportivo La Coruna in the club's opening match of 2007.

AFF decides not to take action against Thailand

KUALA LUMPUR: The Asean Football Federation (AFF) has decided not to take any action against Thailand after their protest walkout during the first leg of the ASEAN Football Championship in Singapore recently.

The AFF reprimanded the Thai team and issued them a warning to refrain from such behaviour in the future.

The Thais were irked by referee M Ravichandran’s decision to award a penalty to hosts Singapore and walked off the field. The match was delayed for 15 minutes before AFF officials persuaded the Thai team to return and resume action.

Thailand lost that leg 2-1 and in the return leg a 1-1 draw ensured that Singapore retained the title.

Meanwhile, a report in Singapore’s Today tabloid said the AFF was seriously considering a league featuring clubs from the leading countries and national teams from the minnows.

The tabloid also quoted Cambodia national coach Australian Scott O’Donnel as saying: “Clearly some countries in the region do not play enough matches. We need to play more matches at the top level and this is the only way we can improve.”

was kind of tired this morning when i woke up.. coz i got home at 3am.. didn't expect so late one.. but anyway, yesterday, i went chinatown with my parents and my sis.. very crowded but i feel abit no atmosphere, no more like last time liao.. last time go chinatown, got that feeling like "orh, it's chinese new year.." but now it's like "you mean now is chinese new year liao?" i counted, got at 10 stalls selling mix candies.. zzz.. are they being sponsered by the dental association or wat?

I met up with sk and henry at about 9 plus.. and went to partyworld oriental to k song.. ermmm.. before we went in, i told them the package is 4 hours one.. so the package will finish at only 12am.. but they say never mind.. -_-" so we really sing til 12 plus.. then we walked to maxwell market to eat porridage.. zzz.. now come the stupid part.. sk forgot where he parked his car.. ermmm.. so we walked around chinatown 2 rounds just to find the carpark.. sian 1/2.. how on earth can someone forget where he parked his car one ar..

today is the 1st time sat with new cg members.. yr was whispering me during the service the same thing that i felt.. BANGKOK, Feb 1 (Reuters) - Thai players and officials face suspension from the second leg of the ASEAN championship final following the team's dramatic first-leg walkout against rivals Singapore, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) said on Thursday.

Singapore won a bitterly-fought match 2-1 on Wednesday after the Thai players walked off the field for 15 minutes following a hotly-disputed penalty award to Singapore eight minutes from time. Singapore eventually scored the penalty and won 2-1.

Anyone found guilty of orchestrating the protest or manhandling the referee could be banned from the second leg in Bangkok on Sunday.

'The ASEAN Football Federation are studying the relevant reports from the match commissioner and referees inspector,' an AFF spokesman told Reuters.

'Based on the records action will be taken against anyone guilty of wrong-doing in the 1st leg.'

A capacity crowd at the National Stadium booed and jeered as the Thai team walked, preventing the penalty being taken.

Their tempers flared after Singaporean striker Noh Alam Shah went down in the area and the Malaysian referee pointed to the spot.

The players eventually returned after 15 minutes and Mustafic Fahrudin fired the penalty high into the roof of the net to put Singapore 2-1 ahead.

The walkout came amid growing bad blood between the two countries following last year's takeover by Singapore state investment arm Temasek of telecoms firm Shin Corp, founded by ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Temasek's $3.8 billion acquisition of Shin Corp added fuel to anti-Thaksin street protests that led to his removal in a bloodless military coup on Sept. 19.

A spat erupted two weeks ago when Bangkok summoned the Singaporean ambassador to protest a meeting between Thaksin and one of the city-state's senior cabinet ministers.

Bangkok police said tight security arrangements were being made to prevent angry scenes at Sunday's match, while big screens would be put up outside the stadium for fans without tickets.

'The number of policemen will be enough to control the crowd,' Metropolitan Police Spokesman Lt Col Pinit Maneerut told Reuters.

Johor minister says Singapore land reclamation cause of recent floods

JOHOR: The Chief Minister of Malaysia's Johor state has cited land reclamation by neighbouring Singapore as a cause of the recent massive recent flooding.

17 people died and 100,000 were evacuated from their homes during the floods.

According to Malaysian daily, the New Straits Times, Mr Abdul Ghani Othman said the floods were due to the narrowing of the Johor River mouth caused by reclamation on Singapore's Tekong island located opposite the waterway.

He said the river burst its banks after excess rain water could not flow out to the sea fast enough.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak, however, said it was too early to tell if the flooding was linked to the reclamation.

"There are all sorts of allegations but we can't come to a conclusion unless a thorough technical study is done on the cause of Johor's floods. The real cause is the exceptionally heavy rainfall," he said.

A spokesperson from Singapore's Ministry of National Development says these comments are unfounded and this is confirmed by the results from technical studies that were commissioned separately by both Malaysia and Singapore.

The studies were part of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea dispute settlement proceedings on Singapore's land reclamation works at Pulau Tekong and Tuas View Extension.

Singapore said a coastal hydraulic study undertaken by Malaysia's Department of Irrigation and Drainage in 2002 found that there were no appreciable changes to water levels within the Straits of Johor under projected worst case flood scenarios which could happen once in 100 years.

The study concluded that there was no increased flooding caused by Singapore's reclamation works.

Separately, an environmental impact assessment report prepared by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and commissioned by the Malaysian government also reported similar findings.

So too, did technical studies commissioned separately by the Singapore government in 2003.

The Ministry added that based on the results of these studies, the Group of Experts, which both governments appointed to study the impact of the reclamation works, had recommended that it would not be necessary for the flood impact to be further assessed by the technical consultant appointed for the Joint Study.

SINGAPORE, January 31 (Asean Football Championship) - Singapore ended their long winless streak against Thailand, grabbing a controversial 2-1 win in the first leg of the Asean Football Championship final at the National Stadium on Wednesday.

The Lions had not beaten the Thais in a competitive match since 1977 but a second half penalty by Mustafic Fahruddin settled the match in favour of the home side.

The penalty was awarded after Noh Alam Shah went down in the Thai box under challenge from Niweat Siriwong and sparked a furious reaction from the Thais who walked off the pitch for 15 minutes before finally being convinced to return.

Alam Shah had earlier opened the scoring for Singapore with his 10th goal of the tournament in the 17th minute but the Thais got back on level terms five minutes after the break when a superb through ball released Pipat Thonkanya, who rounded goalkeeper Lionel Lewis to equalise.

The return leg will be played at the Supachalasai Stadium in Bangkok on Sunday.

As expected, Thai skipper Kiatisuk Senamuang was ruled out by a knee injury and replaced by Pipat, while Singapore made three changes with captain Aide Iskandar returning from suspension to replace Baihakki Khaizan in central defence, while Mohamed Noh Rahman and Fazrul Nawaz came in for Isa Halim and the injured Hafiz Osman.

A capacity crowd of 55,000 was present for what was likely to be the final competitive match at the National Stadium and the majority were on their feet after 17 minutes when the home side took the lead.

The ball was played to Indra Sahdan, whose effort was blocked by Niweat Siriwong and deflected outside the box to Mustafic Fahruddin.

Fahruddin's shot was poor but fell nicely at the feet of Alam Shah, who controlled the ball with his back to goal before turning and firing a right-footed shot into the lower left hand corner of the Thai goal.

On 50 minutes, the Thais were back on level terms with virtually their first opening of the game after a superb through ball by Nirut caught the Singapore defence square, releasing Pipat.

The Thai forward coolly rounded goalkeeper Lionel Lewis before slotting the ball into the unguarded net for the equaliser.

Singapore had a good shout for a penalty in the 56th minute when Khairul Amri was pulled back by Jetsada Jitsawad in the Thai box but referee Ravichandran was not interested.

Buoyed by their equaliser, the Thais proved far more effective in attack and Nirut went close with a long-range drive from 30 metres that was nervously pushed out for a corner by Lewis.

The Thais stepped up the pressure and had chances to take the lead with Pipat scooping the ball over the crossbar following a corner in the 75th minute and Datsakorn firing in another long range effort two minutes later which was kept out by a flying save by Lewis.

The match was plunged into controversy in the 82nd minute when referee C.Ravichandran pointed to the spot after Alam Shah tumbled in the box under challenge from Niweat.

The Thais protested by walking off the pitch in protest and refused to return for 15 minutes.

Thai team manager Thavatchai Sajakul spent several minutes discussing the matter with match commissioner Mohamad Ameen before finally convincing his team to return.

SINGAPORE: There's a possibility that Singapore can win the ASEAN Football Championship, according to the Thai Team Manager, ahead of the first leg final match between the two teams at the National Stadium on Wednesday.

That is because Singapore is a stronger team compared to the Thais, he said.

The Thais arrived Monday night and were in training at the National Stadium on Tuesday.

They will be without their veteran player Kiatisuk Senamuang who is injured.

"A draw will be very happy result for us to go home and play but a loss will be very serious. If we lose to Singapore in Singapore, I think to make it up in Bangkok would be very difficult. Despite the crowd support because tactically if we could not score against you here, I don't see any chance we can score against you in Thailand, if we are going to win I believe it should be here. was looking at the newspaper just now.. 许玮伦 , a Taiwan actress had passed away after a fatal accident, after a struggle of 43 hours, and that people her frens were very very upset.. suddenly flashes of my fren came to my mind.. .. though he never met an accident but he struggled too, for more than 48 hours.. I understood how they felt.. the sudden loss of someone.. even if you are not close frens, you will still feel the emptiness..

Once again, the thought of life is so brittle came to me.. now to me, having a fren is not enough, knowing that fren and appreciating them is the most vital thing.

I seriously at that time forgot how old I was.. so I juz kept quiet.. I meant I am serious.. sometimes when you hang out too long with ~~older~~ mature people, you will forget your actual age.. lol.. but anyway, the so-called big news is not that big.. I juz took it as another phase of my spiritual life.. can progress is a lot better than no progress and worse, moving backwards.. so Friday night after cg, sk, hw and me went to east coast park for supper.. actually the only event was to celebrate sk’s birthday nia.. but then it became our ‘last supper’.. but it was also this time, they really tell me what their future they are thinking.. cool! Got home at 1+ then watched 我猜我猜我猜猜 til 4.

Saturday
As usual, was woke up damn early by the noise of my family members.. todae decided to quickly do finish my major project presentation slides and the touch ups for my reports.. at night want to go watch Singapore vs Malaysia.. in the end good.. finished liao.. went to national stadium with sk first at 6 to buy tickets.. but then sold out liao.. piang eh.. rare lor.. zzz.. last time I go with other frens.. anyhow oso got tickets left.. but today, all 55,000 all gone.. we sian ½.. but hw the most sian.. caught in jam for 1 hr +.. asked him to have bread in his car liao.. but he dun want.. see lar.. now got jam can’t eat.. (a sudden cold breeze is coming.. I see crows flying..) but anyway, we went geylang eat.. and see from tv the first half.. not too bad 0-0.. half time, we change places.. went to my house there’s the liquid kitchen.. but strange.. it closed down and changed to the SXXXXX place.. I forgot the name.. but we went to ‘Georges’s mad café and pub’.. I like the environment there better.. we ordered heinenken bottle of 6.. Singapore is already down 1 nil.. sian.. everyone so quiet in the pub.. until the bandage guy scored the equalizer.. lol.. the whole street cheered.. best.. go into extra time.. and penalties.. so in the end Singapore won Malaysia 5-4 through penalties.. lionel lewis turned from zero to hero..

Went to church early for ministry.. these few weeks had been serving.. today on standby.. zzz.. out of 5 team members only 2 confirmed.. so tony and I joined in.. actually I and he different.. he every week have to.. hee hee.. leader ma.. I his assistant nia.. but 1 thing I noticed is that when you are involved in some areas of anything, you will be more interested to help.

for the last few days, besides doing my reports, i am also doing this piece of 'artwork'.. for my arts appreciation subject.. haizz..

before i chose this subject, i went ask my course manager.. 'eh, this module hor, easy or not?' and his reply is "simple.. just know some art things.." so i happily chose this subject.. zzz. good ar..now kana bluffed by him.. and have to create one mosaic art piece.. mai siao siao.. 25% of whole coursework hor.. sian also bo pian.. so after daes of squeesing my creativity juice, i completed and ready to hand in tomolo..

okok.. dun laugh liao.. i know not really fantastic.. at least i tried..

was reading my email from a newsletter from crosswalk.. and saw the following article quite interesting and useful..

Dear friends:

The major strategy the master terrorist, the devil, uses to attack us is in our thought life.

Are you struggling in your thought life? If so, you are not alone. Our minds are a battleground. But there is good news.

For example, Joe was constantly tempted by evil thoughts and desires. He battled to overcome them, but without success.

Finally one day he decided that every time he was tempted, he would pray for a missionary he knew in India. Without realizing it, he had put the devil in a terrible predicament! The more Satan whispered evil thoughts into his mind, the more he prayed for his friend in India. And the more he prayed, the more God blessed the missionary's work.

When the devil puts ungodly thoughts or desires into your mind, how do you respond? Are you able to resist his attacks, or does temptation get the best of you?

Another way to win this battle is whenever an evil thought flashes across your mind, begin to quote aloud God's Word. Your mind has to stop and listen to what your mouth is saying! This is really effective. Another way is simply exercising your will and choosing to think godly thoughts. Paul wrote, "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -- think about such things" (Philippians 4:8, NIV).

A danger is trying is to camouflage an evil thought life, where we appear one thing on the outside but are really another on the inside. For instance, we spray fresh paint over the rusting metal body of an old car. Homes are carefully decorated to appear serene on the outside, even though a battle rages on the inside. And we spend thousands of dollars on physical exercise, clothing and cosmetics to make ourselves more attractive, though hardly a dime on the areas of our inner life, which no one can see.

But it is not long before problems begin to surface. In time, rust eats through the paint; the neighbors begin to see through the facade of a well-decorated home; and even the most physically fit bodies and brilliant minds eventually disintegrate.

As Christians we must always be aware that a spiritual battle is raging, but Satan cannot touch us if we are abiding in Christ and His Word is abiding in us. The enemy is attacking the inner recesses of our minds, where he thinks no one will notice. We must not harbor and nurse such negative or evil thoughts, and camouflage them, but we must fight the battle daily in the power of the Holy Spirit, and win. One of my favorite disciplines is to read psalms of praise aloud and listen to praise music.

man.. juz got home from school.. today was abit late for kelvin lim's class.. lesson starts at 12pm and i woke up at 11.45am.. washed up, change and rush to school.. but then 67 and 28 so long all haven't come.. zzz.. all should i say all buses haven't come.. piang... finally one 854 came.. the only bus ar.. bo pian so i board.. rather get nearer to school first.. sat at the back.. something just make me look to the back.. zzz.. behind got a lot of buses lor.. ermmm.. haizz..

so i reached school at 12.35pm.. give a smile to kelvin and say 'hi'.. :P .. ok.. am not abit late.. am quite late.. finished his lessons at 1.15pm, lol.. my seat not warm yet, have to go liao, after that begins the fight to complete reports again.. print screens and type.. print screen and type.. all the way til 2.. then went find ps to eat.. tok abt his major project and other thingy.. then we go back school to help him with his search engine.. he oso sian.. left like so little time but system doesn't seems to work.. so we work til 4 then go finance tutorial.. not too bad ended at 5.05pm.. fast.. then i go lab to continue my report.. was targeting to finish user manual today..

time flies.. suddenly it is 8.00 liao.. sian.. then took cab with ps.. seems like standard now.. got home juz in time to watch malaysia vs singapore.. final 10 mins.. i very angry with the china referee.. so lame lor.. aide iskandar coming back from sideline after treatment, he give his 2nd yellow card and then a red card.. for wat man? for coming in w/o telling him?? -_-"

Liverpool's Steven Gerrard was spotted today in Temasek Polytechnic LT21 at around 12 pm staying in for a module named Enterprise Resource Management lecture, after playing an important role in the trememdous match against Chelsea, which they won 2-0 last saturday.. It seems that to keep away the attention of the media, he wore a cap.. but apparently he forgot to change his kit with his normal clothes after the game..

okok.. lame.. dun like that ah.. was very sian right.. then saw this fella wear so red.. took this during the guest lecture conducted by someone who is the product manager from Microsoft Singapore.. hee hee..

anyway, just got home from school.. urghh.. had a long dae in sch man.. started at 10 and by right should end at 2.. but then i stayed back to do report.. looks like this whole week shall be a busy week.. submission date is coming.. reports.. after reports to do.. zzz... sian 1/2.. tomorrow got prayer meeting also dun know got time to go or not.. then somemore, tomorrow 8pm malaysia vs singapore..

today Pastor Kong preached a really fantastic Word.. I believe it really refute some of the unfounded comments 1 blogger made in his blog.. powerfully explained the secular and the sacred mindset and how it will limit God and how CHC is really in the Word of God.. will type in the sermon.. one phrase that kept coming back to my mind.. even right now is "many a times, we FOCUS on small things and MISSED the big picture.." isn't it true.. people focus on the church settings, what pastors said and missed out the big picture on the real reason of coming to church to experience the presence of God.. this is missing it big time man.. tsk tsk..

Meanwhile.. i had lunch with how wee, sk , eddie, jasmine , vern and cindy.. lol.. very the rare that we all go out eat on sundae.. not too bad with the toking.. :p :)

juz got home from outside.. great game!!!! The Reds won the Blues by 2-0!!!! watched the match with how wee and sk in happy daze in serangoon gardans.. the game was a simply classic.. the 2 goals liverpools scored, shows how chelsea need terry to be back and how much they need micah richards.. after watching, we went to paradiz to play pool.. then went to rocher bean curd to eat.. now freaking full..

some fella who i believe is an ex-Christian, even though from his writings of 'try to save a friend's soul'.. wrote about how he felt during last week's service in CHC.. and also about how he feel the church preached about Prosperity.. Perhaps, he came first time bah.. so let me now try to reason what he wrote..

1. about Coporate Leadership Seminar (i believe he's toking abt Dr A.R. Bernard's)

my reply: hello!! if you check, Dr A.R. Bernard is a board member of the New York City Economic Development Corporation ("EDC") appointed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg and a member of the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Public Library, a good fren of Bill Clinton

in Singapore, he will be like in the Ministry of Finance MP liao..

Furthermore, he had years as a banker before he founded the church.. People are willing to spend money to listen to him man.. now.. as he is a good fren of the church, of course he come and speak lar.

If people are willing to spend thousands to hear from Antony Robbins who was a JANITOR, toilet cleaner, how much more people want to hear from Dr A.R.Bernard, a banker and an advisor for New York Economic..?

2. English classes for PRCs (conducted by British teachers)

my reply:CHEC is an education center.. so what you should expect, a place about everything except teaching of knowledge?

Ang- moh's england is the best, so of course ask ang moh people to come teach lar..

3. health care for the elderly

my reply: A church should be the vassel to not just help people spiritually but oso physically.. since we have members who are willing to give, we are able to bless the people in the community regardless of religion.. and we are helping them thru CHCSA.
somemore we are helping people who have financial difficulty.. could you? or do you?

With times like the Old NKF, CHCSA is better using the money that was received..

4.Bible Study classes
my reply: zzz.. church must teach Bible ma.. and build the people with the balanced Word of God.. a church without this studies then is abit funny.. somemore the teachers are all graduates of some Bible colleges hor..

anyway, I won't listen to you who never go through any blibical courses.. If God can speak to you straight.. ermmm.. then i nothing to say..

5. extensive rock concert, aka Praise and Worship (about an hour).
my reply: The bible never really specifically state how to praise Him.. except in Revelation, the angels cried out Holy Holy Holy is the Lord.. hmmm.. from wat i remembered, one of the Delirious? songs which was sang on sunday had a part "you are Holy!"

6. caught and focused the audience's attention, especially the younger crowd, by situating religious worship in the context of popular culture, entertainment and coolness.

my reply: hello!!! Sunday is 10 am service.. who on earth would want to wake up SO EARLY ON Sundae to get the hype? especially the young people.. Ask the youth in orchard road.. whould you go church.. most will say no.. But being relevant to them will keep them here.. BUT we must be holy yet contemporary..

7. Free entertainment involving the audience (jumping [god, I hate the jumping, especially since it set up harmonics that discomfited me and threatened to tear the fabric of my being apart], clapping, hand waving)

my reply: In the bible, King David DANCED!!! and his wife had tell him to keep it down coz he is acting like a crazy person.. so does King David love God? He loves God so much that he dun care abt his reputation and DANCED with joy on streets..

The bible say love God with all your heart and all your strength and all your might..
Again you are not reading the Bible..

anyway, we jump up and down because there is no space to dance around.. if u notice..singapore expo hall 8 is not very the big oso..

lastly, you dun need to like it, we are not dancing to worship you.. but God.. :P

8. making the audience stand during the rock concert wore them down and made them more receptive to what was to follow

my reply: A normal person will feel tired and will want to sleep after standing for an hour.. hello!! at least that is for me lar.. when i go MoS...

ask the AETOS security guards in the hall.. standing for 2.5 hours, are they tired.. confirm one ma.. piang.. I tok to them during my ministry one also.. and when you are tired, you won't be receptive.. in other denomination churches which held serveices and not masses, they stand too.. Standing is a respect to God!

9. Regarding Delirious? performance can be supported by point 7.. and when one is excited for God, he can do any actions.. I believe the drummer is hitting hard lor..

And studying Christianity for 4 years doesn't mean you know alot.. I went for many many Bible Study classes and I oso can't say I know everything..
like wat Joyce Meyer said before.. "We know what we know and we dun know wat we dun know.."
means you know alot of wat you should know but there are also many things you dun know, and may never know.. so dun judge anything without finding the Spirit behind it.

o ya and oso.. the writer who wrote to Strait Times, havent call up to CHC office to tell about who go collect money under CHC name

What can we do? nothing.. but as long as we are working in accordance of wat God spoke to the pastoral management of the church and that we are not going against the basic standard orthodox Christianity like cheap grace.. that's enough..

today's cellgroup meeting was a re-cap on what was preached for the last 2 weeks in weekend services.. basically the main theme is fulfiling the cultural mandate.. which is really a revelation to me.. i mean we had all read the book of Genesis for thousand over times and never really go into the words 'be fruitful and multiply, subdue it and have dominion'.. and it's only now where God is bringing the church to another level from penetrating into the marketplace to being a Daniel among Babylonians to now fulfiling the cultural mandate by engaging pop culture..

pop culture is the collection of experiences from people.. and one of pop culture is sports.. it set me thinking.. hmmm.. come to think of it hor, soccer is really a pop culture.. on the field, all sorts of things happen.. from rooney's clapping of hands for referee's decision to zidane's head-butting to last week's slapping on nicky butt's face.. all these form the culture of english soccer.. hee hee.. Singapore soccer culture laggi best.. that is.. it will be unusual for an s-league match to have less than 3 goals scored.. lol..

after cellgroup, daniel sent me to tampines mrt.. he actually wanted to eat supper with me but then he was tired then somemore want to watch the last 30 mins of prison break.. zzz.. so in the end, i go buy roti prata and eat myself.. nice.. i oso got home in time to see who are the male and female champion of the 绝对SuperStar

SINGAPORE, January 15 (Asean Football Championship) - Noh Alam Shah scored seven goals as defending champions Singapore hammered Laos 11-0 on Monday to put themselves in pole position in Group B in the Asean Football Championship.

The Tampines Rovers forward scored twice in the first half after Muhammad Ridhuan had opened the scoring and added four more after the break as the Lions scored eight second-half goals to secure an easy three points for the home side.

Shahril Ishak, Khairul Amri and Itimi Dickson also found the net in Singapore's biggest ever win in the tournament.

The margin of the victory could prove crucial for the city state side who only need a draw against Indonesia in their final group game on Wednesday to advance to the semi-finals.

With Indonesia drawing 1-1 with Vietnam earlier in the day, Singapore went into their game knowing that goal difference could be the deciding factor in the group and Lions head coach Radojko Avramovic brought in striker Indra Sahdan and defenders Hafiz Osman and Baihakki Khaizan in place of skipper Aide Iskandar, S.Subramani and Khairul Amri.

Singapore's opener against a Laos side unchanged from the one that lost 3-1 to Indonesia came after 10 minutes when winger Muhammad Ridhuan tucked the ball home from the six-yard area after goalkeeper Sengphachan Bounthisanh had spilled a low cross from stand-in skipper Indra Sahdan.

A minute later Alam Shah scored his first of the night, rising high to head in Mustafic Fahruddin's lofted pass.

He could have added a second shortly afterwards when he rocked the crossbar with a header but he did find the net again on 24 minutes when Ridhuan's cross from right was nodded back at the far post for the striker to finish from close range.

Bounthisanh was spared further agony when he was replaced on the half-hour by Phoutpasong Sengdalavong but the substitute goalkeeper would have a torrid second half.

It was 4-0 just two minutes after the break when a low cross by Hafiz Osman found its way past the entire Laos defence to Shahril Ishak, who stretched to turn the ball home from inside the six yard box.

Sengdalavong brilliantly turned aside Indra Sahdan's curling effort in the 59th minute but was helpless a minute later when substitute Khairul Amri surged past Chandalaphone Liemvisay before laying the ball into the path of Alam Shah to complete his hat-trick.

Amri shot home Singapore's sixth in the 71st minute before turning provider for Singapore's next four goals as he set up Alam Shah in the 72nd, 76th and 88th minutes and also crossed for Dickson to fire home in the 78th minute.

Alam Shah set the seal on a memorable performance by scoring with an acrobatic scissors kick in the second minute of stoppage time after his first effort came back off the crossbar.

Beckham agrees five-year $250m LA Galaxy deal

David Beckham will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and join side Los Angeles Galaxy on a £128million ($250 million) five-year deal - which works out at a mere half-a-million pounds a week.

The former England captain will leave Real in June and begin his new career in Major League Soccer in August.

Beckham said in a statement: 'This week, Real Madrid asked me to make a decision regarding my future and the offer to extend my contract by a further two seasons.

'After discussing several options with my family and advisers to either stay here at Madrid or join other major British and European clubs, I have decided to join the Los Angeles Galaxy and play in the MLS from August this year.

'I would like to thank the supporters and people of Madrid who have made my family and I feel so welcome in my time here, making this an extremely difficult decision to make.

'I have enjoyed my time in Spain enormously and I am extremely grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to play for such a great team and their amazing fans.

In terms of finances it is a mega deal and compares with the biggest in mainstream US sports American football and baseball.

The MLS have recently changed their salary cap rules to allow sides to make 'marquee signings' of top international stars. The Beckham deal will see the 31-year-old benefit directly from all his image rights and related sponsorship deals which in the past have had to be shared with his club.

The Real Madrid future of the world's most famous footballer had been shrouded in doubt, especially after coach Fabio Capello this week dropped him from the squad - the first time it had happened to Beckham since he moved from Manchester United in July 2003.

During those three and a half years, Beckham has seen six different coaches appointed while Real have failed to win a single trophy.

Capello's arrival at the start of the season could have heralded a new era for Beckham, who was dropped from new England boss Steve McClaren's squad in August, but instead he found himself often sidelined.

Real had been very keen to keep the midfielder - his marketing power remains a huge draw to fans across the globe - but after talks today he announced he will be moving to Los Angeles.

Real Madrid confirmed Beckham would be leaving in the summer in a statement today.

NKF's former CEO Durai admits liability to all claims

SINGAPORE : Former National Kidney Foundation (NKF) chief TT Durai has accepted liability to all claims brought against him by the new NKF management.

This unexpected turn of events came as the trial entered its third day at Singapore's High Court on Wednesday.

Durai did not appear in court on Wednesday, but through his lawyer Chelva Rajah, he conceded judgement with costs.

This turn of events came as a surprise as the new NKF lawyer, senior counsel K Shanmugam, had just finished his opening statement on Tuesday.

The next step is to assess the amount of damages to be paid.

The hearing for damages can be expected in a year.

However, the case against the rest of defendants and third parties continues.

They are former Chairman Richard Yong, former treasurer Loo Say San, former board member Matilda Chua, and Durai's business associate Pharis Aboobacker; as well as third parties Alwyn Lim, Lawrence Chia, Kweh Soon Han and Chow Kok Fong.

They were sued for allegedly breaching their duties and causing NKF to suffer damage and losses.

The new NKF wants to recover at least US$7.5million (S$12 million).

Over the last two days, the court heard, among other things, how Durai allegedly controlled the charity and benefited personally from it.

The trial was originally scheduled to last at least seven weeks, but with the latest development, it is expected to be much shorter now.

In its reaction, the new NKF says that it is pleased the claims made against Durai has been accepted by the former NKF head.

The charity adds that it looks forward to putting the past behind them, learn the lessons and focus on the future.

so the big news of today are these: -

Durai deleted evidence from computer, didn't reveal settlement offer

Doctor Chee finally didn't apply to postpone the court case.. (but apparently NKF court hearing is gathering more publicity than his..)

It was July 13, 2005, the night before T T Durai was to step down as the chief of the National Kidney Foundation. Still, the man reputed to be a workaholic, was busy in his office at the charity's Kim Keat headquarters.

But this was no ordinary evening.

Amid the rumblings that were gathering pace across the island over his handsome remuneration and the shadow of the investigation that was to follow, Durai was cleaning up traces of "a fraud that he perpetrated".

"He sat through the night deleting items from his computer and destroying documents in the office," Senior Counsel K Shanmugam said on the opening day of a civil suit.

The NKF hopes to recover some $12 million allegedly wasted on benefits, salaries and failed contracts from Durai and several Board members.

Others dragged into the case are former chairman Richard Yong, former treasurer Loo Say San and Mr Durai's enigmatic friend and business associate Pharis Aboobacker.

"They were going out of their way to hide it, including deleting items from their computers," said Mr Shanmugam, who is representing the NKF.

He painted the picture of one man manipulating an organisation along with his "cronies" on the board - a suggestion that offended the defendants' counsel. Once his "cronies" offered him an eight-month bonus which he modestly slashed to a "mere" $25,000.

Mr Shanmugam spoke of a man who flew first-class and brazenly lied to his executive committee about it. A man who did not want the NKF to be governed either by the Ministry of Health or by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS).

Above all, he spoke of a man who would do anything to get his own way.

At the heart of the matter was Durai's dispute with the Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) which eventually resulted in the court case that led to his ouster.

"SPH had made a very reasonable offer to pay damages and give an apology," said Mr Shanmugam revealed.

But Durai was spoiling for a fight. He did not mention the SPH offer to the exco.

He claimed lawyers had told him that NKF had a very good case. "This was inaccurate," said Mr Shanmugam.

A lawyer had also warned of risk if the case against SPH was pursued. Again, Durai did not reveal this.

In fact, he said that SPH had filed its defence when in truth it was asking for more time to come up with a settlement.

To this, the chairman, Mr Yong, responded by proposing that Durai's legal costs in the SPH action be borne by NKF.

Mr Shanmugam also touched on Durai's manipulation of the media.

When there were reports on a code to make charities more accountable, NKF staff were asked to "ghost-write" letters against the move.

In an email sent to her colleagues, NKF's deputy director of communications Michelle Ang wrote: "Just got off the phone with Mr Durai. We'll need to pump out some letters to send to each of three (news)papers on the recommended IPC code ... The letters must sound real ... The letters - three a day - should go out to the media. We'll need a sustained campaign, so it's all hands on deck."

As Mr Shanmugam spelt out his case, Durai sat impassively, flanked by his son, Yong and Loo.

The courtroom itself presented a strange sight, with stacks of files in shelves lined up behind Judicial Commissioner Sundaresh Menon. Much of this huge body of evidence is expected to come up for discussion.

As for Mr Shanmugam, he has barely waded through 40 pages of his 90-page opening statement.

Mr Shanmugam: I will use a longer form of words every time I refer to them - the people who completely abdicated their responsibility and behaved completely dishonourably - I will say that every time.

juz gt home from outside with sk and hw.. missed this afternoon appointment with the other cellgroup people.. but anyway, we went to pasir ris farmway to see fishes, dogs.. we wanted to go there see see for a long time liao lor.. after we rac-kee, we went to downtown east's arcade to play.. then we met this group of young brats keep playing the daytona and not leave.. so I and how wee got this chance to challenge them..

In my mind was.. got to win man.. if not will be si bei xia suay.. juz imagine some primary sch kiddo won 2 old people.. somemore one is driving real car.. i and the other guy chose manual while hw chose auto.. zzz.. (he brought auto car coz he scared that he can't change gear on time.. -_-") anyway, the game started.. and i got a big crash, proudly did by hw.. to think he say, we dun kill one another off hor b4 the game.. sian 1/2.. which means now 2 man race.. all hopes on hw.. 5 laps over, the other guy leading.. then suddenly hw, dun know knoe how he cheong using auto car, go in front and lead for 3 laps.. then lap 8 liao, i got back into the race and took the lead.. hee hee.. skilled people like me dun be afraid of being behind one.. at 9th lap, we 3 cars all around hit one another.. then best.. i squeese the kiddo to one corner and he flicked.. wahaha.. sun tzu in his art of war book says, "The good fighters of old first put themselves beyond the possibility of defeat, and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy."

so in the end, hw got 1st, i 2nd and that rude fella 3rd.. now he finally give up his seat.. we did give up oso.. mustn't deprive others a chance to play.. then we went to courts.. sk bought a fan and actually we wanted to eat there.. but then alot of people queuing.. we were like.. ermmm.. by the time our turn, we hungry to death liao.. so we change venue.. hw go home to watch soccer while we went bedok central eat.

Not too bad.. at least we managed to make it works.. hee hee.. our presentation slides template very standard one.. used the one how wee sent me.. let me think.. had used it for my 'world issue' presentation, had used it for my major project's milestone presentation and now this session. after presenting, i went straight home with ps through cab.. damn tired.. haven't been sleeping these 2 days.. can die man.. actually wanted to go cut hair.. i wear nice nice go cut, sure cut swee swee also.. but then zhou gong cut queue and make appointment with me .. so i went.. woke up at 3.30pm to go back school for art appreciation class.. zzz.. went class with blood-shot eys.. haizz. just woke up. what to do.. then tutor ask me, "r u ok?" ... dotzzz

stayed at home today to complete my goal setting card 2007. Just the second day of 2007, so not too late.. hee hee.. was reading through my last year's goal setting card, and was calculating how many events did I really accomplished.. count and count,big ones and small ones, total had accomplished about 72% of what I had written..

This year, my main goal is to have a better management in my finance, coz it seems everytime, money goes out fast, whether it's through lending or treating or buying.. so now I have 3 files to keep track my finance IN and OUT. 1 for income where I record my allowance and stuff.. 1 for my expenditures, and 1 for tithes and building fund. A good start.. I had record what I had spend during the countdown .

Another goal will be to re-read the Bible again according to the church's bible-reading chart. To remind myself, I decide to write down the verses to be read.. :)

juz got home from counting down.. had a long day man.. how wee came to fetch me at 5.30pm before we head down to bugis to meet sk, tony and henry.. was actually shocked when how wee told me at night got alot of people.. zzz.. coz at first we were saying a small group is good.. coz not noisy.. but anyway, we went to billy bombers after much much elimination.. some one juz ate swensen's last wed, that same person don't like steamboat also.. so we left with billy bombers.

sk treat.. hee hee.. but i feel we paid alot but food abit sucky.. then we head off to see if got movie to watch.. apparently at 9 plus, all tickets which were taken.. so too bad.. then we walked to the building next to 海南会guan(can't find the word) to play pool.. bad day.. suddenly everyone went off-form.. haha.. played just 4 rounds and we head off to serangoon gardens' liquid kitchen to meet others..

lol.. from a small group of 5 people, suddenly we have 16 people.. who do we have? let me recall.. me, sk, henry, tony, happi, richard, eddie, jasmine, jingyi, chee yuan, joy, 3 of jingy's frens.. we ordered 2 bottles of red wine and 3 kopis.. and also we had a mini surprise for how wee.. celebrate his birthday.. all thanks to happi.. cut cake liao then sit around and tok and wait to the countdown.. not bad, liquid kitchen still provide the pops.. hehe.. but then something juz spoilt how wee and sk's mood.. they tio summon.. by some TP call Muhd Razif.. (we are looking for you bro.. don't let us see you.. hee hee joking..)

then we went to punggol beach to play splinters.. -_-" .. happi, richard and chee yuan left,but the rest of us go to Marina Country Club.. eddie wanted to sing.. but then, the rest no mood.. especially those who need to pay fines.. and also jasmine want to go home liao.. so they went off while the rest of us went back to serangoon to the prata shop..

Hong Kong smokers fuming over new ban

HONG KONG: The year 2006 will end in a puff of smoke across Hong Kong when a ban on smoking in bars, restaurants and offices comes into effect – and the new law has left many here fuming.

Tobacco police will be out in force on New Year's Eve, ready to stub out offenders after the clock strikes midnight, as Hong Kong becomes the latest major city to embrace the anti-smoking movement.

But in a place where the fat-cats of finance celebrate mega-deals with cigars over dinner, and the smoky haze of karaoke bars never seems quite bad as the air pollution outside, the drive to go smoke-free has plenty of critics.

"I've been smoking since I was 14 and I'm still alive. How can they say smoking will kill me?" said Lam Kin-shing, a 70-year-old retired construction worker who pledged to ignore the law.

"I think the ban violates my human rights," he said.

Hong Kong approved the anti-smoking legislation in October and launched a public relations campaign to rally support for the ban, warning of the dangers of second-hand smoke and calling for clean and fresh air.

It was an appeal that got little sympathy from many in this southern Chinese city, where health authorities have to provide daily alerts on air quality because of the choking smog created by the mainland's enormous factories.

And some revellers are furious that police have vowed to start enforcing the ban at one minute after midnight, when the New Year's revels are in full swing across a city known for its hard-charging nightlife.

"What do they expect? That I will shout out at midnight that everyone must stop smoking?" one bar owner told the South China Morning Post. "No way."

Hong Kong had long been mulling a ban in a bid to protect the more than 200,000 people employed in the hospitality trade, and the law brings the city in line with New York and other major cities where indoor smoking is taboo.

In an attempt to appease the city's legions of diehard smokers, the government has designated 255 areas in public parks and playgrounds across the territory where lighting up will still be allowed.

Outside some office buildings, yellow lines have been painted to outline smoking areas. Those who fail to abide by the new regulations can be fined up to 5,000 Hong Kong (640 US) dollars.

But authorities allowed nightclubs, bathhouses, and massage and mahjong parlours to apply for a delay that would keep them from having to become smoke-free until July 2009.

Anthony Lock, managing director of California Red Karaoke, a chain of bars, said he estimated that 70 percent of the clientele were smokers – and that he expected to drop off by 20 percent at first.

He said the company started a non-smoking campaign more than a year ago to raise the awareness of staff and customers.

"We are doing our best to reduce the health risks and hope that the impact on our business can also be reduced," he said.

Still, old habits die hard, and many Hong Kongers say the law could help them muster up the willpower to cut down – which is just what the government wants, after all.

"I've been smoking for years," said 45-year-old Leung Ping-hung, puffing away outside his downtown office building. "At least it would force me to smoke less or quit."

Saddam Hussein executed in Iraq

Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has been executed by hanging at an unspecified location outside Baghdad's Green Zone for crimes against humanity.

The news was confirmed to the BBC by the Iraqi deputy foreign minister.

Iraqi TV said the execution took place just before 0600 local time (0300GMT). A representative of the prime minister and a Sunni Muslim cleric were present.

It is unclear whether Saddam Hussein's half-brother and a former Iraqi chief judge were also executed.

All three were sentenced to death by an Iraqi court on 5 November after a year-long trial over the 1982 killings of 148 Shias in the town of Dujail.

A small group of Iraqis including a representative of the prime minister and a Sunni Muslim cleric were brought to a building somewhere outside the Green Zone and watched as the sentence was read out to Saddam Hussein, the BBC's John Simpson says.

The former Iraqi leader was carrying a copy of the Koran and asked for it to be given to a friend.

The noose was then placed around his neck and his face was hooded before the trap door was released. The execution took just a few minutes.

Video footage of the execution is expected to be released as final proof of Saddam Hussein's demise although it is expected to stop short of showing the actual death, our correspondent says.

US troops and Iraqi security forces are on high alert for any violent backlash. The US State Department has urged all its embassies to increase security.

'End of a dark period'

News of Saddam Hussein's execution was broadcast on state-run Iraqiya television, as patriotic music and images of national monuments were played out.

Saddam Hussein was hanged first, followed by Barzan and then Bandar, it announced. However, an Iraqi national security advisor has since said only Saddam Hussein was hanged.

Other Arab TV stations aired live footage of the sunrise over Baghdad's Firdous Square, where US Marines pulled down a statue of Saddam Hussein, after he was deposed in April 2003.

The BBC's Peter Greste in Baghdad says Shias have generally welcomed Saddam Hussein's death and hailed the execution as justice for the suffering endured under his leadership.

But Saddam's own Sunni tribesman were angered by his treatment and may well protest once more, our correspondent adds.

'Held to account'

US President George W Bush hailed the execution as "an important milestone" on the road to building an Iraqi democracy, but warned it would not end the deadly violence there.

He said: "It is a testament to the Iraqi people's resolve to move forward after decades of oppression that, despite his terrible crimes against his own people, Saddam Hussein received a fair trial.

"It is an important milestone on Iraq's course to becoming a democracy that can govern, sustain, and defend itself, and be an ally in the War on Terror."

UK Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett welcomed the fact that Saddam Hussein had been tried by an Iraqi court "for at least some of the appalling crimes he committed" and said "he has now been held to account".

France called on Iraqis to "look towards the future and work towards reconciliation and national unity".

Internet users back online but face slower connection speeds

SINGAPORE: Internet users in Singapore and across Asia got back online but continued to face slower connection speeds as the disruption caused by the earthquake in Taiwan entered its second day.

Although there have been improvements, service providers say they are working to restore affected services as soon as possible.

The Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) says full restoration may take a few weeks, and calls on the public's continued understanding.

Tuesday's quake in Taiwan caused undersea cables to be damaged, resulting in internet disruptions which affected several industries.

Budget carrier Jetstar Asia said its online booking system was badly hit.

Chong Phit Lian, CEO, Jetstar Asia, says the organisation is quite badly affected as online bookings are down 30 percent from the usual and the call centre has to take more calls. The payment gateway is also down.

Singapore Airlines also saw a decline in online booking immediately after the quake but the situation has improved.

Others like Tiger Airways reported business as usual.

As for international freight-forwarding company DHL, it said operations were not affected but customs and processing work in Taiwan were disrupted on Wednesday. The situation is now back to normal.

Service providers are working round the clock to tackle the problem.

SingTel, Southeast Asia's biggest telco, has set up a Command Centre to monitor and manage the situation.

The aim is to restore affected services and rectify disrupted private data network for corporate customers.

It also mobilised four cable ships to carry out repair work on the damaged cables.

StarHub, Singapore's biggest broadband provider, said 80 percent of its Internet bandwidth has been successfully diverted to other undersea cables.

Most Asian and local sites are not affected. The problem crops up when you access some US-based sites like MSN or hotmail.

In a statement, IDA said the country, being a telecomms hub, strives to ensure that communication links are always "on" through diverse offerings such as alternate submarine cable and communications systems.

It added it will continue to monitor the current situation.

The last time such a major disaster affected online users in Singapore was in 1999, when an earthquake in Taiwan also hit undersea cables. - CNA/so

Internet access in Singapore severely affected by Taiwan quake

SINGAPORE : The earthquake in Taiwan has wrecked havoc online among thousands of internet users in Asia.

Singapore has also been affected - with major online disruptions.

Others in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong were also hit, after the quake damaged several undersea cables around Taiwan.

Service providers say the recovery process will take days, if not weeks.

If you faced difficulty accessing sites especially US-based ones, you were not alone.

Many across Asia faced the same problem too, with a long wait in downloading information from the internet.

The instant messaging service such as MSN Messenger was also down.

The reason - the earthquake off Taiwan on Tuesday night damaged the undersea cables, resulting in slow internet access to some sites.

Taiwan's largest phone company Chung-hwa Telecom said the quake which measured 6.7 on the Richter scale disrupted some 98% of Taiwan's communications capacity with Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Due to the high cost of such submarine cables, most countries co-invest in a common communications infrastructure, and this multi-billion-dollar information superhighway has now been damaged.

But service providers say it's not a complete breakdown, it just takes longer as online traffic is diverted to alternative lines.

SingTel, Southeast Asia's largest telco, says its submarine cables linking the US and Europe are not affected.

But it has set up an operations centre to monitor the situation.

"The extent of damage to the cable is extensive. We are clearly taking this on two fronts - we want to restore service on the damaged cable as soon as possible and at the same time, we are working round the clock with our consortium partners to do the traffic diversions. We think there's a good chance we can restore service as soon as possible," says Choo Pee Hin, director of Network Operations at SingTel.

The earthquake was so massive that even SingTel's backup alternative cables were knocked out.

Telephone facilities in Taiwan were also affected, including overseas calls in and out of Taiwan.

For StarHub, two of its 95 channels on its digital cable service were down since mid-day, and late Wednesday night, one of them, Channel TV5MONDE, resumed service.

"In terms of the breadth of disruption I think the largest impact was on broadband and surfing of overseas sites. It was multiple cables that were impacted and multiple companies in countries who were affected. In fact, I think pretty much everyone is impacted," says Mike Reynolds, head of Integrated Products & Marketing at StarHub.

"And when all the different cables out in the ocean are impacted, the customers will feel it. So getting them back to normal service in the shortest time is what matters."

Other providers like Pacific Internet say connectivity problems may stay for days or even weeks, while repairs are in progress.

But users can expect big improvements over the next few days.

You can still access websites based locally, like the online government portal, which are not affected as traffic does not have to be routed overseas. - CNA /ls
